Quick descent down to to the Argentiere glacier.

The view from the basin. Huge, vast space filled with blue skis and jagged peaks. Beautiful.

View up the Col from half way up. Very icey, windswept snow made for some tricky skinning. I was the only one in the group without ski crampons, so some boot packing was in order in the steep section before the top.

All smiles on the ascent.

Taking in the views and stillness at the top.

3hrs up, 15mins ski down.

The lunch camp at the summit. Tinned tuna and Snickers.
IMG_0366
Time to enjoy some well earned turns.

The view down into Switzerland from the summit cornice. We didn’t want to get any closer to the edge.

On returning to the valley we enjoyed a traditional Slovenian dish called ‘Sarma’ that consists of minced beef and rice stuffed inside cabbage leaves. Delicious!
